Nagadeepa Temple

According to ancient legend, this sacred stupa was erected by two warring Naga kings, Chulodara and Mahodara, whose conflict threatened to engulf the region in turmoil. Legend holds that during Lord Buddha's second visit to Sri Lanka, He intervened in a dispute between the Naga kings over a gem-studded throne. With divine wisdom and compassion, Lord Buddha resolved the conflict peacefully, imparting a lesson in harmony and forgiveness.
