Jaffna Old Kachcheri

The Jaffna Old Kachcheri is a Neo-Renaissance building from the colonial era that once stood at the centre of the district’s governance and revenue. Damaged during the civil war, it is now a haunting ruin of tall arches and weathered walls, and a powerful reminder of the city’s layered past.

It is about a 15-minute drive, roughly 6.5 km, from Ratnagiri Heritage Home Stay and pairs well with a visit to Jaffna Fort. Take care on uneven ground and treat the site as the fragile ruin it is.
