St James’ Church, Gurunagar

St James’ Church in Gurunagar is a graceful example of colonial church architecture, with twin towers, a decorated façade and calm, cool interiors that make a welcome pause from the sun. It stands near the coast, close to Jaffna Fort, and is still a working church.

It is about a 12-minute drive, roughly 6.0 km, from Ratnagiri Heritage Home Stay. Visit respectfully, avoid service times unless you are attending, and dress modestly.
